Delivery rounds planned from where drivers really stop

Pošta Slovenije · in production, all of Slovenia

Last mile route optimization: software that plans the daily rounds of postmen and couriers. It learns from every delivery where the doors really are and how long each stop takes, so tomorrow’s plan is better than today’s.

The system learns where each door really is from where drivers stop, then plans the rounds.

In short

For
Postal and parcel companies that deliver to thousands of addresses every day
The problem
Nobody knows exactly where every delivery point is, or how long each stop takes.
What it does
Rounds are planned on where drivers really stop and how long it really takes — updated every day, for the whole of Slovenia.

Who it is for

For postal and parcel companies that deliver to thousands of addresses every day

The problems it solves

  1. Nobody knows exactly where every delivery point is, or how long each stop takes.

  2. The map sends drivers to the wrong side of the building, so they walk the last stretch.

  3. Rounds are planned on guesses, so they are unfair and too long.

How it works

How AllDelivery plans the delivery rounds

Every postman carries a phone that records where they stop. The system collects these stops, works out the real position of every door and the time each delivery takes, and uses that to split the country into fair, efficient rounds — every day, automatically.

  1. The address is in the wrong place

An official address often points to the middle of a building or the wrong side of the block. The driver has to drive around and walk.

  2. The phone notices where the driver really stops

Over many deliveries, the system learns the real door, how long the stop takes and how often there is a parcel.

  3. The route goes straight to the real door

At this one address it saves 13 seconds. No detour, no walk.

  4. Repeat for every address in the country

With real doors and real stop times, the rounds can be planned fairly and the vans drive less.

The interactive map shows the same four steps on real streets in Ljubljana: the wrong address, the real door, then the delivery areas.
